Belthangady: Vented dam cleared off wood pieces, slush

Belthangady: A large amount of wood pieces and clearing of slush was undertaken at the vented dam of the Valyasta of Kadamballi, which is used as source of Valyastara Agriculture source of water place.

On behalf of the Dharmasthala Valour Disaster Disaster Management Team, the operation was held under the aegis of Taluk Units of Belthangady Rotary Club, Mundaje Gram Panchayat, Mundaje Rotary Community Force, Kindi Dam Welfare Committee, Local Association and with the help of local people.

The vented dam was filled with waste, causing disruption to the river water flowing smoothly. Earlier, during last week of July the beneficiaries of the vented dam cleared the wood pieces and waste.

In the two days of the work, the water in the river again increased and a large amount of wood pieces got collected.

Officials of the Small Irrigation Department inspected the site and sought the cooperation of the Disaster Management Team for clearing the wood waste. Likewise, under the guidance of Regional Director Vivek Vincent Pais, the work was done under the Direction of Planning Officer Jaiwant Patkar.
