Woman’s body found in half-burnt condition

Belthangadi: A half-burnt body of a woman was found on December 12 in a water-flowing canal on the edge of a rubber plantation in Soracke near Kanyadi-1 under Taluk Nada Gram Panchayat at Kodange Gudda of Nada Kanyadi village .

On inspection, information about this was received due to stench coming from nearby households. A pile of wood lay on top of the charred body in the valley. Although the preliminary investigation suspected suicide, when a pile of wood was found on the body, it was found that it was a murder.

The body of the woman was burnt to such an extent that it was not possible to identify her, and based on the anklets at the site, it is suspected to be the body of a woman. Belthangadi police sub-inspector Nandakumar M.M. Sahitya Sibandi has visited. Police officials said that the dead body remained at the spot after night fell and the forensic laboratory team reached the spot on Tuesday and the post-mortem process will be conducted.
