Belthangady: Under the guidance of Dr. Veerendra Heggade, the Bhajana training at Bhajana Kammata is being held at the Mahotsava Sabha Bhavan.
In all 322 campers from 174 Bhajana Mandali participated in the bhajans.138 women campers participated. In the last three days, the introduction of the tune and the classes has been done by teacher Manorama Tholpadittaya. Sangeetha Vidushi Usha Hebbar and Sangeetha Balachandra Udupi gave a Bhajana training.
Soumya Subhash conducted the training of traditional songs. This is the third day of the Bhajana Kammata and for the first time in the bhajana training, Dolak and Key Boards have been used in the background accompaniment.
The Bhajana Mangalotsavam will be held at the Amritavarshini Sabha of Dharmasthala on Friday September 23 and an estimated 6000 bhajanaartis are expected to participate.
Ramakrishna Katukukke on Monday September 19 and Tuesday September 20, Uppunda Rajesh Padiyar Mysore on Tuesday and Wednesday September 21, Sankara Shanubhag, Bangalore will train campers as resource persons on Wednesday and Thursday September 22.
Every day there is a lecture programme from 12 noon to 1.00 pm. Cultural rituals were held in Bhajana Mandalis by Yakshagana artist Ujire Ashok Bhatt, a lecture on Kundapra Kannada-village comedy speech by Kundapra Kannada cultural ambassador, Manu Handadi.
On the first day of the workshop, Drama ‘Yadavattu Raja’ with concept by Dr. Hemavathi V. Heggade was performed by the Rangasiva Kala Vidyalaya of Dharmasthala.
On the second and third day, Dharmasthala’s English medium school students performed ‘skits’. And ‘Rangashiva Kala Baga Dharmasthala’ presented the songs.
