Belthangady: As announced by Housing Minister V. Somanna that DPR will be made within a week for the construction of a mini airport in the Taluk, the concerned officials conducted site identification work on Tuesday September 6.
Site inspection work was done in Dharmasthala and Laila villages and the officials made site inspection in Laila and Melantabettu border areas near Belthangady Salu Marada Thimmakka Park.
It has been learnt that the airport needs 100 acres of land and the area around it needs to be marked so that the hills do not come across.
Details of this will be reported to the concerned department. During the inspection, KSIDC technical department officers of KSIIDC Bangalore headed by Purvi Math, Puttur Assistant Commissioner Girinandan, Belthangady Tahasildar Prathvi Sanikam, Revenue Inspector Pratish, Laila Village Accountant Renita, and Village Assistant Satish were present.
