Belthangady: The inauguration of Emergency Relief Fund for Health Protection Programme of the members of Self Help Associations on behalf of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Village Development Yojana will be held on Thursday September 15 at the head office of the Rural Development, said Regional Director of the Insurance Department Purushottama. Speaking at a media conference called at Belthangady Press Club on Wednesday September 14 he said a complete security programme was started 20 years ago to provide inpatient hospital treatment to the members of Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Gramabhivriddhi Yojana and their family members of SHGs has been successful. This year 8.75 lakh members are registered for the year 2022-23, he said.
Keeping in view the success of the complete protection programme, the health protection hospital expenses insurance programme for the members of the associations was started from 2021 on behalf of the scheme, he added.
The sum assured available under the Full Safety Programme per family is Rs. 1.20 lakh. In Arogya Raksha Yojana only including husband and wife Rs. 20,000/- facility is provided. 50 lakh members of 27.62 lakh families are enrolled in the health protection programme. Keeping their needs in mind, an emergency relief fund for the year 2022-23 has been set up for the health protection programme. Out of which Rs. 2.50 Crore has been earmarked for Aarogya Raksha beneficiaries for serious diseases like cancer, heart attack, kidney failure, head injury etc. The facility is envisaged to provide sum assured up to 50,000, he informed.
The complete health and safety insurance programme sponsored by the scheme is jointly undertaken by leading insurance companies of the country such as New India Insurance Company, National Insurance Company, Oriental Insurance Company and Universal Santo Company
Suchita Gupta, who is also the Chairman and Managing Director of National Insurance Company, will visit to inaugurate the newly started emergency fund programme this year, he said.
Dr.D.Virendra Heggade, deacon of Dharmasthala will take over the presidency. Project Executive Director Dr. L. H. Manjunath, General Manager of National Insurance Company Peter Chittaranjan, Assistant General Manager Keshav Mohan will participate.
District Director of Rural Development Satish Shetty, Planning Officer of Insurance Department Satish were present in the press conference.
