Belthangady: A goods lorry, which was travelling from Belthangady to Kottigehara near Church Cross in Mundaje on the Mangaluru-Villupuram National Highway, collided with a main line pole supplying power to Mundaje feeder late night on Friday September 2, disrupting power supply to many consumers in Mundaje area.
The goods lorry was also damaged and the driver and the conductor is out of danger. MESCOM has failed to provide immediate power supply from Mundaje, even though there is an alternative system to supply power from Belalu feeder via Nidigal towards Mundaje due to which the support to electric pole is broken and the poles are leaning towards the ground.
There has been anger from consumers over the power supply problem to Mundaje area every day due to one reason or the other.
