Belthangady: Realising the condition of a man suffering from illness, volunteers of Nada Kanyadi Shaurya Disaster Management Unit have done humanitarian work by planting arecanut saplings.
Ashok Gowda, a resident of Nadibettu Village of Nada has been unwell for the last four months and is unable to work. His wife has two small children and is a labourer and his life is very difficult. On seeing this, the volunteers of Sri Dharmasthala Shaurya Disaster Management Team decided to help this poor family and planted arecanut saplings as per their advice.
The team’s volunteers Alwin D’Souza and Harishchandra. He has given 100 arecanut saplings free of cost. All the volunteers of the team have planted the saplings by removing the pits and carrying the manure.
It has been decided that volunteers will be responsible for the maintenance of the planted saplings till Ashok Gowda recovers. The family members appreciated this service of the volunteers and said that it was a great favour to the people in distress. Shramadaana for planting saplings was held from 9.00 am to 5.30 pm and all volunteers voluntarily participated.
