Belthangady: For the first time in the history of Shishila, the “Shishila Kandodu Kesardu Onji Dina” programme was held on Sunday in a grand manner at Jagadish Ellu Majalura’s crop field in Shishila.
After worshiping at the Shisileshwar Temple first in the morning, the Temple Administrator Moktesara Srinivasa started the programme and then arrived at Gadde (field) with a grand procession of costumes depicting Tulunadu culture.
MLA of Belthangady Harish Poonja, who arrived at the event, danced in the field with the masses. Also, to cheer up the young minds gathered, he himself participated in the tug-of-war competition and motivated the contestants and the people to participate.
Renowned social worker Ravi Katpady from Udupi arrived at the event and added to the glamour and shine to the event.
On this occasion, Programme President of Shishila Gram Panchayat Karunakara Shishila, Sandeep Gowda Ammudange, Programme Planning Committee Secretary Sudhin Shishila, Charan, Chief Organiser Gangadhar Shishila, and Hindu Jagraan Forum President Anand Kandecharu were present.
Savarkar portrait, Kambala buffaloes, and Sri Devi still image were part of the procession.
Competition was held in boys, girls, women and men categories in the field. Lemon and spoon race, Kabaddi, tug of war, reverse race, and slush race were held.
