Belthangady: The taluk-level Dasara sports meet was held at Sri Ratnavarma Heggade Stadium in Ujire on Saturday September 3.
Speaking after inaugurating the games, Ujire Gram Panchayat President Pushpavathi R. Shetty advised people to participate in the games with a sporting spirit. She said that in a sport where winning and losing is important not everyone can win.
Belthangady Taluk Panchayat Executive Officer Kusumadhar was the chief guest. SDM Sports Club Secretary Ramesh, Taluk Physical Education Teachers’ Association President Krishnananda, Nisarga Yuvajana Non-Mandala Barangaya President Puneeth Pondila and others were present.
Youth Empowerment Department Supervisor Santhappa welcomed the gathering. The programme was hosted by Ajith Kumar. Coach Saraswathi Puthran presented the vote of thanks. Athletes from different parts of the Taluk participated in the games.
