Belthangady: Vishwa Karma Yajna organised

Belthangady: Vishwakarmabhyudaya Sabha Laila, Belthangady, with the divine blessings of Sri Kalahastendra Saraswati Mahaswamiji, under the patronage of Shivaprasad Purohit Savanalu, organised ‘Vishwa Karma Yajna’ and pooja and opening ceremony of kitchen on Saturday September 17 at Sangha Auditorium, Laila.

MLA Harish Poonja, who inaugurated the kitchen said, “Vishwakarma means those who have tremendous power to create something new. This society has such a history. He said the Vishwakarma Samaja is credited with introducing the sculptural heritage to the entire world.

Vishwakarmas arw hardworking as a community and they could not come to lime light because the British hid many of the magnificent sculptures in India, including Belur, Halebidu and Shravanabelagola, which should have been recognised globally as world heritage. This sculpture was carved by Vishwakarmas, whose sculptures are reflected in many temples, gopurams and houses. Vishwakarma is also the creator of Swarna Sri Lanka, the world’s special attraction. The 3D image of today’s modern times was carved out of stone by Vishwakarma thousands of years ago, he claimed.

Swamiji of Vishwakarma Samaja has the dream of making a Mahavidyalaya of Architecture. He had raised the issue when he met them a few days ago. As his disciple, the MLA has already donated Rs 50 lakh for the construction of Vishwakarma Community Hall and he will arrange an interlock for the hall within two months. He also assured full cooperation for the construction of a community hall and an annachhatra to be held in the future, he said.

The function was presided over by Gopal Acharya Kannaje, President of Vishwakarmabhyudaya Sabha and sought the cooperation of all for further development works.

Navodaya Vishwa Brahmin Sangha Andinje President Prabhakar Acharya, Extended Building Committee Vishwakarmabhyudaya Sabha, Belthangady President Raghavendra Acharya, and Gayatri Mahila Mandali Belthangady President Vasanthi Mohan Acharya were the Chief Guests.

National Award winner Diwakar Acharya, Former President of Sri Gayatri Vishwakarma Mahila Mandali Rita Y. Acharya, Nagar Panchayat Nominate Member Prakash Acharya, Savanalu Shiksha Sarathi – 2022 Awardee Rajesh Acharya, Panditu Division Belthangady Clerk Saraswathi Niranjanacharya Kaiplody, K. Suraksha Kannaje, who created a world record through the formation of the smallest dot mandal, K. Narayana Acharya, Director, CA Bank. Spandana Channel Anchor K. Keerthi S Kokradi, Asha Satish Acharya and ManjunathAcharya Aladangadi were felicitated by the MLA with shawls and mementos. The social workers who became elected representatives were recognised with a memento.
