Beltangady: Dean of Science Institute, Head of Botany Department Dr. Kumar Hegde B.A. He is appointed. The principal appointment has taken place after the retirement of Jaya Kumar Shetty from the service on March 31.
Dr. Kumar Hegde B.A. He holds M.Sc with rank in Botany from University of Mysore. He graduated and has been SDM in Ujire for the past 35 years. He is working as a botany professor in the college. He is also serving as the Dean of the College’s Science Institute.
Earlier, he received ‘State Award’ for best project officer and ‘Indira Gandhi NSS National Award’ as NSS officer of the college. He was the executive editor of the college annual issue ‘Manisha’ for five years and was instrumental in winning the university level best annual issue award.
He has published articles in national and international research journals. He has conducted hundreds of personality development training programs as an officer and trainer of personality development organization JC. Presented many state and national level programs as a presenter.
Apart from that, he is the president of Belthangadi taluk’s cultural organization ‘Semaha’ and as a resource person he has given many expert lectures related to culture, art, literature, sports and environment. He has served as the Vice President and General Secretary of Mangalore University Faculty Association ‘Amukt’.
