Belthangadi :The operation of replanting the forests in Chibidre and Thotattadi villages of Belthangadi taluk by the forest department was completed on Monday evening. As the operation was coming to an end, in the nearby village of Mundaje, there was a massive raid in the forest plantations on Monday night.

In the villages of Chibidre and Thotattadi, there has been a lot of wildfire for the past one month. In most of the villages, lone beetles used to enter the plantations at night, which caused a lot of agricultural damage. To avoid deforestation, the forest department had been conducting an operation to cut forest trees for the last ten days. It was run in two shifts. Last five days ago skilled Anekavadis arrived from Nagarhole and started the operation he was full of strength.

During the first several days of the operation, the team had a constant lone encounter. Once during an operation, an attempt was made to attack the forest operation team found in the forest. But as the operation was getting tight, the operation was terminated on Monday evening as the forest was not seen for four days. Operation again Although the elephant was not found, the team continued operations from Saturday to Monday evening at various places in the villages, but no sign of the elephant was found.
