Udupi : A fire broke out in Periadka area of ​​Koyuru forest in Belalu village on Sunday, causing damage to wildlife in an area of ​​about two acres.

It is not known what caused the fire in this forest under Kaniyur sub-zone of Uppinangadi zone of the Forest Department.

Fires have broken out in areas like Nertane, Ekkela, Koti Hittilu of Mundaje-Dharmasthal reserve forest and as it is getting under control, the fire is spreading in areas like Mundrupadi and Filatdka. The forest department staff and many local people are trying to bring the fire under control. Heavy sunny weather is hampering the operation.
Cause of fire It has been reported that people who go to collect firewood, straw etc. from the forest set fire to dry grass, causing fire cases. There are people who set fire to forest areas to drive away wild animals. Now it is the time of collecting wild honey, there are people who put smoke to drive away the bee flies and then come back without choosing the fire, along with all these miscreants are causing some cases.
