Foot march as part of the National Girl Child Day campaign

Ujire: As part of the National Girl Child Day campaign in Ujire Gram Panchayat, a foot procession was held from the main circle of Ujire to the Gram Panchayat office on February 28. Various school children and teachers participated in the procession. Anugrah school children’s attractive band and path movement attracted everyone’s attention.

Later, various competition programs were organized in the Gram Panchayat Hall as part of the Child Friendly Gram Panchayat Abhiyan. Children enthusiastically participated in the competitions and expressed their talents. . Later, a special village meeting for children was organized under the chairmanship of Gram Panchayat President Mrs. Pushpavathi R Shetty.

Prakash Shetty Nocha, Panchayat Development Officer spoke and gave an introductory speech on the importance of children’s village council and their responsibility as conscious citizens. Ms. Pratima, a group resource person, informed the children about the various facilities available from the government.

Vinod, a representative of Child Rights Trust (CRT), spoke about the role of children in governance and the importance of children’s village meetings.The President distributed certificates to all the children who won in the competition programs, everyone is responsible for the protection of children’s rights and the protection of the girl child is our priority. Ujire spoke about organizing more child-friendly programs from Gram Panchayat.Kumari Shamnaz, a selected representative of various school children, various school headmasters, teachers, representatives of CRT organization, village council members and staff were present. Yogeesh, a student of the college, narrated the program, Gr.Pt. Secretary Shravankumar welcomed and Development Officer Prakash Shetty gave the vote of thanks.
