Beltangady: Around Guruwayanakere, Belthangadi city, there was heavy rain on Thursday, trees fell on the road and electricity poles were damaged, causing traffic disruption.
A huge tree fell across the National Highway near Guruwayanakere Pilichamundi Kallu and the National Highway traffic was disrupted for a few hours. Belthangadi Nagar Panchayat Vice President Jayananda Gowda, who was present at the spot, informed the concerned department and cooperated with the locals in clearing the tree. A huge tree fell on an electric pole near Belthangadi Court Road Taluk Panchayat and PWD Residential House and fell across the road causing traffic disruption for some time. Mescom officials, Forest Department, Nagar Panchayat staff rushed to the spot and helped to clear the electric pole and tree.
