Beltangadi; The incident took place on Friday when the local people of Karambaru Banthadka under Shirlalu Gram Panchayat did not have drinking water.The people of Bantadka under Shirlalu village panchayat of Beltangady taluk have not got proper water for four or five days today, the angry locals went to the panchayat and staged this protest.
Taking the Panchayat PDO to task, the locals expressed their outrage that we do not have proper water.Locals like Anand Pujari, Thimmappa Shetty, Siddique Banthadka, Harisha, Suresh, Lakshmi, Ashraf, Mohammad, Koragappa etc. led the protest. The Mahias of Bantadka had also gathered in large numbers. The PDO and local people’s representatives, who spoke on this occasion, arranged for suitable grants. He assured that remedial action will be taken soon.
