Belthangady: Body of unidentified woman found in Netravathi river

Belthangady: The body of an unidentified woman was found in Netravathi river at Kudige in Belalu Village on Wednesday September 7.

The body was found among the garbage trapped in the middle of the river. Dharmasthala Police, in coordination with Belalu Shaurya Disaster Management team, lifted the body. A huge amount of water flowed into the river on the evening of Tuesday September 6 during which the body is suspected to have washed away from the top.

The woman’s body, which was found in a completely decomposed state, and could not be identified. The woman wore a silver bangle in her hand and earrings resembling gold in her ear. Dharmasthala Police Station Sub-Inspector Anil Kumar and staff are conducting an inspection. The body has been shifted to Belthangady Government Hospital for postmortem.

The volunteers of Belalu Shaurya team divers Harish Belalu, Coordinator Asha, Ravindra, Harish Manjunath, Jayaram, Venur, Raghavendra, Harish, Sanjeeva, Yashodhara, Santhosh K. Jagadeesh helped lift the body.
