Belthangady: In Adkady of Hatyadka Village of the Taluk, linemen were assaulted over an electricity bill issue.
Kantu Poojary had not paid his electricity bill for several months. As the bill was not paid despite several requests, Umesh, the line man there disconnected the electricity line of the house as per the orders of his superiors. For the same reason, Rijesh, a resident of Ajikuri, Dharmasthala, along with others assaulted linemen Umesh and Dundappa with a soda bottle while they were on duty.
The assaulted are undergoing treatment at Belthangady Hospital. A complaint was registered in Dharmasthala Police Station and Rajesh has been arrested.
