Belthangady: It has been reported that the village clerk was arrested on the charges of misappropriating records of the Revenue Department on Wednesday September 7.
Jayachandra, a villager from Tannirupantha was arrested and produced before the Belthangady court.
Jayachandra who was a case worker of NCR files of Kokkada in Beltangady Taluk Office in 2018 along with another accused named Raju, with the intention of making illegal profits, handed over the NCR files from the public to the taluk office without properly performing the government duties, and Raju hid those files dishonestly in his custody.
On August 16, Belthangady Tahasildar Prathvi Sanikam complained to Belthangady Police Station about the betrayal of trust. It is learned that Jayachandra was arrested by the police on Wednesday, interrogated and produced before the court.
