Belthangadi: A bike rider was killed in a horrific accident between a pickup and a bike on Monday near Kokradi in the taluk.
Ujjwal Hegde (19), a student of Moodbidire Private College, died. He was about 1 km from home while going to the college daily. He used to travel by bike till Kuntalakatte and from there by bus. On Monday too, while coming on a bike as usual, the rider was seriously injured when he collided with a pick-up vehicle coming from Venur side. He was immediately taken to Belthangadi Hospital, but he was dead by then.A case has been registered in this regard at the Venur police station The deceased has father Lal Chandra Hegde, mother teacher Ambuja, brother Naval Hegde.
