Belthangady:Senior Dalit leader P. A CID investigation has been started in connection with the unnatural death of Dekayya. CID officials reached Belthangadi and got the necessary information from Belthangadi station.
On July 6 last, when no one was at home, Dekayya collapsed and got injured. He died in a hospital in Manipal on July 8. His last rites were held at Padmunja’s house. After this, Dekayya’s sisters and family expressed suspicion about his death and lodged a complaint with the Beltangadi police on June 15.
Later, on June 18, his dead body was picked up and a post-election examination was conducted. Investigation was started at Belthangadi Police Station. In the meantime, the family had submitted a petition to the government demanding a CID investigation and the government entrusted the investigation to the CID.
Now CID officials have reached Belthangadi and got the information about the case from Belthangadi police and it has been learned that they have visited the house of Padangadi where the incident took place. We have to wait and see if any more information about the case will come out of the investigation
