Ujire: An incident took place in the late night of January 16 when the roof of a medical shop and a hardware shop on Charmadi Road in the main town was broken and an attempt was made to enter the shops and steal.
The activities of the thief who entered the store were recorded on the CCTV camera. They ransacked the shops with scarves wrapped around their faces and when they did not find much cash, some daily items were stolen.The laptop of the medical shop was taken to the top of the building and crushed. The swipe machine was placed in a bucket full of water. Damage to hardware store cables is theft of retail cash. The owner said that property worth Rs.1 lakh was damaged due to the act of the thief.
The Belthangadi police have investigated this.
