Beltangady; The police stations of the taluk are working as per the instructions of the MLAs and the common people are not getting justice here. It has been proven in several criminal cases in the taluk. Former MLA K Vasant Bangera alleged that the MLAs are abusing the Ayakars and protecting the aggressors.
He addressed the protest held in front of the Beltangady Police Station demanding that a case should be registered against the MLA who assaulted Jayanand Pilikala, and that a proper investigation should be carried out in the case of Shibaje’s Sridhar murder. He alleged that the MLAs had abused Jayananda and despite complaining about it, the police were not ready to register a case and demanded that a case should be registered with the police as well.
In Shibaje’s murder case, the investigating officer DYSP said that due to the pressure of the MLAs, they are standing by the killers, they are working to protect them, proper investigation should be done and action should be taken. Bangera, who brought forward many other cases in the taluk, accused the police of protecting the accused in all these cases due to the pressure of the MLAs.
Addressing the protest, former minister K Gangadhara Gowda said that the violence against Jayananda could not be tolerated for any reason and he would continue the struggle until justice is served.
