Belthangadi: Belthangadi police have arrested two accused in connection with the case of raping a girl of Koppadagandi Parasara of Kadirudyavar village in Belthangadi taluk and causing an abortion after she became pregnant. Manohar (23), a resident of Koppada Gandi of Kadirudyavara village and Madhava Yane Madhu (30) of Mangalore Konaje are the arrested accused.
The girl used to go to the house of her neighbor named Sudhir to watch TV on Sundays and other holidays, at this time Sudhir took the girl to his grandmother’s house nearby and threatened and raped her, then continued this act from time to time for the past one year.
As a result, the girl became pregnant and along with Parvati, Manohara and Madhava had an abortion in some hospital.In this regard On 30th December Belthangadi Police received information from Child Line.
A case of POCSO was registered against the four after a close consultation was held at the Pragya Destitute Children’s Cottage in Moodubidra on the orders of the Child Welfare Committee. Now two accused have been arrested.
