Beltangady; The incident took place in Ujire on May 14 when a housewife complained to the police that a businessman from Ujire, who took her in a car on the pretext of giving her a job, not only put his hands on her chest and thighs but also tried to molest her.
Prabhakar Hegde, a businessman from Ujira, was the accused, while Sujatha, a resident of Chikmagalur district, Hangaravalli, was the complainant.
Sujatha and her husband Kiran Gowda had come to seek work in Prabhakar Hegde’s firm. On this occasion, on May 14, she was given shelter at her house and her husband Kiran was assigned to work as a cook in his organization. He told Sujatari that he was going to leave for work in his subsidiary company in Dharmasthala and took him in the car. But the car did not go towards Dharamsthala and went by Kakkinje route.
