Ujire: While carrying a boat, it accidentally connected to a power line and three children were injured in an incident that took place in Charmadi on Saturday.
The main line of a private company which supplies power to Kakkinje power substation and has a return line in case of need passes along the highway at Charmadi.
Next to this line, three children Muhammad Ali (16), Muhammad Inaz (8) and Hanif’s son Ayyan (6) of Charmadi Imtiaz were carrying a doti when it touched the power line.
Locals immediately took the children to private hospitals in Kakkinje and Ujire and after providing primary treatment, they were admitted to Mangalore Hospital for further treatment.
Children who sustained burns from the incident are said to be out of danger.
There is a HT power line next to this power line and there was load shedding at the time of the incident, so there was a lot of danger. Mescom officials visited the place and conducted an inspection.
