Beltangadi: In the wake of the upcoming assembly elections, the police department has started strict checks at the check posts in the border areas of the state and districts at the Charmadi check post under Dharmasthala police station.

As per the direction of PSI Anil Kumar, inspection has been started and strict monitoring is being done on the vehicles coming and going from the district.
Charmadi check post connecting Dacca and Chikmagalur districts operates 24 hours a day. This action has been taken to prevent untoward incidents involving money, weapons, gifts and liquor in the wake of elections.It is known that thousands of vehicles ply on this road every day and all the vehicles are inspected at this check post.
In this regard, a board has been installed at the check post and more instructions have been given to the police.
PSI Anil Kumar said that now two personnel are working in the counter shift and more personnel will be deployed in the near future.
