Mundaaje : A Chitpavani language poetry conference was held at Arekkal Farm House, Mundaje on Sunday by Beltangadi Taluk Chitpavan Brahmin Association.
Senior poetess Padma P. Bedekar, who was presiding, said, “Such programs should be held every now and then to bring out the forgotten ones. If we preserve our identity and continue the chain and traditions, it will help the next generation.”Senior poet BC Rodina H. Narayan Hebbar said, “The endangered Chitpavani language needs to be saved. It is regrettable that the number of speakers of this language is decreasing in other parts of the Udupi districts. Parents need to make children aware of this language.”Ramachandra Bhat of Arekkal Farm House spoke in introduction.
