Beltangady; A gang assaulted a Congress worker at BJP’s victory rally in Peradi on Sunday night and the assaulted person was admitted to Belthangadi Government Hospital.
The person who was assaulted is Congress worker Dayanand Pujari. It is alleged that he was dragged and assaulted inside the victory procession and he was assaulted and has now been admitted to the hospital. As soon as the information about the incident came to know, hundreds of Congress workers had gathered in front of the hospital.
Many leaders including former MLA K Vasant Bangera, Rakshit Shivaram immediately visited the hospital and met Dayanand Pujari who was assaulted and filled with courage.
A complaint has been lodged with the Venur police about the incident.
