Belthangadi: With the dream of building a model observatory in the center of the taluk, a blue map was drawn by a private architect and a proposal was sent to the government. In the first phase, Minister Govind Karajol sanctioned 5 crores and then 2 crores were sanctioned. MLA Harish Poonja said that the temple will be built as a model for the state.

He was speaking after inaugurating a well-equipped observatory constructed at a cost of Rs 7 crore on Tuesday.It includes accommodation for two dignitaries, 8 other rooms and an auditorium, meeting hall for staff. During its construction, then Public Works Engineering Shivprasad Ajila, present Engineer Guruprasad and other officials have cooperated. On the same occasion, Valmiki, Jambava, Ambedkar Development Corporation handed over a two-wheeler worth Rs 50,000 to 50 families of the P tribe and handed over 20 harvesting machines costing Rs 3 lakh from Kudremukha Ore Company. Vidhan Parishad member Pratap Simhanayak said that MLA Harish Poonja has set an example for the state by giving the state and central schemes to the families from the fringes of the society with development as the first priority. Everyone can dream but one must have the will to make it come true.

That is possible only in Harish Poonja. He said that he will complete the foundation stone for any work and see that the work is done at the scheduled time and inaugurate it. On this occasion, MLA Harish Poonja and Vidana Parishad member Pratap Singha Naik were honored by the department. On this occasion, Nagar Panchayat President Rajani Kudwa, Vice President Jayananda Gowda, Standing Committee President Lokesh, Members Tulsi, Gauri, Sharat, Public Works Assistant Executive Officer Abyantara Guru Prasad, G Pm Assistant Executive Officer Abhianthara Nithin, Engineering Tausip, TA Pm Chief Executive Officer Kusumadar were present. Ta. Pan coordinator Jayananda Laila narrated the program.
