Beltangady : A lone salaga that was plowed into Dumbettu area of Mundaje village panchayat late on Saturday night invaded the local plantations and destroyed the agriculture. More than 50 banana and groundnut plants were crushed in the gardens of Sudhakar Gowda, Vishwanath Gowda, Rukmayya Gowda, Jayaprakash Bhat, Krishna Bhat etc. The pipe line of the irrigation system is damaged. A lone caravan has run near the houses of the environment.

A lone elephant that came through Chamundi Nagar and Kaje Nalilu areas has breached a ditch near Dumbettu and entered the environment through it. For the last three months, the people of Dumbett, who were at ease without any elephants, have again experienced an atmosphere of anxiety.
