Beltangady: Many essential development works are in progress in Elaniru area in the last part of Daka district and Beltangady taluk and the important demands of the people here for many decades will be completed soon.
Elniru, 125 km from the taluk center, was a very inaccessible area and faced lack of basic facilities. This area has about 150 houses and a population of 600, located at the source of Netravati river. People here were facing many problems due to lack of basic facilities. Realizing this, MLA Harish Poonja took great care in the development of this place and formulated several projects and implemented them through various grants. In this, the development of short bridge, school, anganwadi has already been done at necessary places. In the lighting scheme, the scheme of providing electricity to several houses here by Mescom has already been launched and the people here are getting electricity..
Atta near Chikkamagaluru and far away from Dakazilla for the fresh water development work, the equipment has to be transported using a lot of detours. As the width is narrow, there is a problem to achieve machinery on the internal roads here. However, important works are already in progress here.
Colony development of Oddi P. Sect.
Road development and short bridges are being constructed at a cost of Rs 5 crore to connect the Oddi Scheduled Tribe colony with about 10 houses.
1.280 km. The concreting of the road has already been completed. Also the work of short bridges is in progress. The work will be completed in the next few months and it will become a permanent connection system for the people of this environment. Along with this, a short bridge is also being constructed at the waterfall area on the Didupe-Elaniru road. Thus a total of five short bridges will be constructed.
There are around 15 houses in Bangarapet area where vehicular traffic is impossible. The dirt road here is very bad and people were struggling to move. A foot well was used as a support for the overflowing ditch during the rainy season. A bridge with Kindi dam is being constructed here and most of the work has been completed. The development of the link road here is going on. A road with barrier will be constructed and this too will cost around Rs 5 crore. It will be done under the grant. All these works will solve the problem of connecting the internal roads of the watershed area.
