Beltangadi: The incident took place on Tuesday morning near Nidigal cocoa plantation of Mundaje village on the Mangalore-Villupuram national highway and the biker died in a private hospital in Ujira after colliding with a Scorpio bike.
Ashok Kumar (56), secretary of Mundaje Milk Producers’ Cooperative Society, a resident of Kelengi in Kalmanja village, was the bike rider who died in the accident. He was on his way to the Milk Producers’ Association towards Mundaje when a Scorpio coming from the front collided with the bike.
Mohan Kumar of Kalmanja and others admitted him to the hospital who was seriously injured. It is said that he died while preparing to be taken to Mangalore for further treatment after primary treatment at a private hospital in Ujira.
A complaint has been registered at Belthangadi traffic station about the accident.
The deceased has father, mother, wife and son.
