Belthangadi: “Unable to oppose the SDPI party ideologically and democratically, the leaders and workers of the opposition party are working to create a wrong impression about the party and the candidate among the people. SDPI Beltangadi Constituency Committee President Nawaz Sharif Katte said that SDPI has been campaigning in the constituency for the past six months and our competition is to defeat BJP.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, he said, ‘Already a booth committee has been formed in 121 booths of the taluk and there are 23 gram panchayat members. SDPI is the main opposition party in many panchayats. People are fed up with BJP and Congress party, SDPI through youth and women in the field. Wide public support has been created. He said that the victory will be ours with the deposit in the election..

They said that the SDPI candidate will not file nomination papers, they will withdraw their nomination papers. On the day of nomination, thousands of people joined, now per cent. 100 percent competition is sure. It is SDPI that stood on the streets and fought against BJP’s anti-people and anti-minority laws like Hijab, Halal, Jatka, Hazan, NRC, Abolition of Reservation Act, legally and constitutionally. No other party has done the struggle and public service done by SDPI in the taluk. Activists who work regardless of caste and religion are with us.
We are against the BJP which seeks votes on the basis of religion and the Congress party which has fake secularism. Congress has won the votes of the minority Muslims in all these years. But knowing the life of the minority community is still worrying. Educated young men and women have been cheated and have not acquired any position of power.
There is an allegation that they stopped the election by giving 35 lakhs to SDPI candidate. If the allegation is true, let the accuser come with the document and prove it. He said that if it is true that a pilgrimage to Ajmer has been arranged for some members of the Muslim community on May 8, Muslims should postpone that trip and participate fully in the elections.
Akbar Belthangadi, party’s Belthangadi Vidhan Sabha candidate, party organizing secretary Nishar Kudradka, leader Inas Rodrigues were present at the press conference.
