Beltangady: A special vehicle check was conducted by the police department at Mundaje in Beltangady taluk on Saturday in the wake of the election.
In the name of ‘surprise checking’ near Bhide Cross, Mundaje, the National Highway and Didupe-Paicharu State Highway were collected and the passengers’ belongings were checked in cooperation with the paramilitary force.Check posts are already functioning in Charmadi, Kokkada, Punjalakatte, Naravi and other places of the taluk due to the election date, and the weekend election date is approaching. This tight operation has taken place. There was heavy traffic on the Mangalore-Villupuram national highway on Saturday and the police were allowed to pass only after checking every vehicle.
