Beltangadi:In the government’s electricity project, the project to connect electricity to a total of 33 houses in Elaniru area of ​​Malavanti village in Belthangadi taluk, which is an inaccessible area, has been completed and will be inaugurated on March 29. Many houses in the fresh water environment of scenic natural beauty with waterfalls had to live by the light of chimney lamp without electricity connection. People here have been demanding electricity connection for several years, but there have been many hurdles. All these problems have been solved with the help of MLA Harish Poonja, and 33 houses here have been blessed with electricity.
The MLAs have formulated several development plans for the catchment area, which was suffering from lack of infrastructure, in which major projects have been completed. In the wake of the Covid waves, no Covid cases were found in the fresh water environment and this became a model area.

4.5km line
32,92,110 in Somantadka branch office of Ujire Mescom sub division. This project has been completed with a grant. Installation of 152 LT pole, 4.5 km to provide electricity connection to the beneficiaries. A long power line is drawn. As some of the places here are in the wildlife section of Kudremukh National Park, electricity line, pole installation has been done only in revenue land and private land. In this project, without receiving any deposit from the beneficiaries, the wiring system with one lamp, one plug was done by Mescom itself, meter, box, fuse, tripper, 9 watt bulb etc. was also provided to the beneficiaries by Mescom. Electric pole and other necessary accessories have been transported from Belthangadi via Bajagoli covering 120 km. This also leads to high shipping costs.

Converter for Badamane area

The problem of low voltage in the Badamane area here is extreme, and to solve this, a new converter has been installed. It will be inaugurated on 29th.800 m of power line passing to supply electricity to 12 houses of Bangarapalke environment. The land is in the wildlife section of Kudremukh National Park. Mescom officials said that a proposal has already been submitted in this regard, the wildlife department has asked for more information and the process of collecting it is going on and they will submit a re-proposal as soon as it is completed.
