Belthangadi: Complementary to healthy society and economic progress. India will emerge as the 3rd economic power in the next 25 years. Karnataka Governor Thawarchand Gehlot said that a healthy society is also necessary for this to be possible.
He was speaking while inaugurating the “Navajeevan Samavesh” organized under the auspices of Akhil Karnataka Jana Jagriti Vudisha at Amritavarshini Sabhabhavan in Dharamsthala on Wednesday.
The governor started his speech in Kannada by saying, “Hello to all, hearty congratulations to all of you.” Dharmasthala, which has eight centuries of grand history and heritage, is today world famous for its four kinds of charity namely Annadana, Vidyadana, Abhayadana and Medicine. He praised and congratulated Heggade for the village development project and the service of building a healthy society free from addiction. He especially appreciated women’s empowerment and free healthcare.
Succumbing to alcoholism can damage physical and mental health. The financial condition of the family deteriorates. Love-trust within the family is reduced and human relationships are bad and the personality itself is destroyed. He said that building an alcohol-free society under the efficient leadership of Heggade is a great act of virtue.
When he was the Union Minister, he took special care to create an addiction-free society. A healthy society can be built only when the production, sale and addiction of alcohol is prevented. Alcoholics should prevent those around them from falling prey to alcoholism. Awareness and awareness should be created so that the youth do not fall prey to the addiction of alcohol. Today, under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, India is recognized as the “World Guru”. It is the duty and responsibility of every citizen to build a healthy society as an addiction free nation.

The proposed Gr.Yo. Executive Director Dr. LH Manjunath, Akhil Karnataka Jana Jagruti Vudisha is functioning statewide as 31 district vudisha, 8 taluk vudisha, 112 zone vudisha and 273 village committees. More than 7000 active workers, 458 office bearers are organizing. So far, 1.25 lakh people have become free from alcoholism through 1475 alcoholism camps and self-motivation. 3116 Navjeevan Samiti of Panamuktara have been formed, 217 have been given self employment training, 2000 members have been given Samvad, 110 have been given awareness brother and friend award. By creating awareness against the evils of public awareness platform program, smuggling, illegal sale of liquor, chicken raking, gambling etc. have reduced considerably. He said that 2000 people have been treated confidentially in de-addiction and research center.
