Belthangadi: Former minister, Congress party Gangadhar Gowda has been questioned by income tax officials.
The officers who raided the house near Belthangadi Santhekatte early on Monday morning also raided his college and another house in Indabetti and checked the records etc. The search operation was conducted from early morning till late night. Officials did not provide any information.
The Gowdas were originally Congress leaders and later defected to the JD(S) and the BJP. Now he is in the Congress and has the intention of contesting the Assembly elections and has also submitted an application. But he was disappointed as he did not get the ticket. Meanwhile, he was appointed as the state vice president of the party on Sunday. The phenomenon of income tax attack has not only aroused curiosity but also caused agitation in the current politics.
