Belthangadi: The election has been declared by the Election Commission and the leaders of the political parties have already been informed in the Belthangadi Assembly Constituency. He gave information related to the election at a press conference called at the Election Commission office at Beltangady Mini Methodist Church on Monday.
The final list of voters of Beltangady assembly constituency is being prepared. There are 241 polling booths in the taluk, out of which 64 are classified as sensitive, highly sensitive, 177 medium, and 9 without networks. There are 67 centers with 1 polling booth, 58 with 2 polling booths, 14 with 3 polling booths and 4 with 4 polling booths.
Checkposts have been constructed at Naravi, Charmadi and Kokkada in the taluk. Checking is being done at every check post. Officers and staff are performing duty in three shifts, he said.
The booths will be decorated in different ways this time too. Blue color booth, green color booth, traditional booth, heritage booth, carpet booth, special spirit booth, Yakshagana booth, youth voter booth will be constructed on each side. He said there will be a Sakhi booth on 5 sides.
There is no hindrance to conduct any religious or social program in the taluk. Marriage, Munji, Seemantha, Yakshagana, Nema, religious program can be conducted. But there is no opportunity for election campaign there. He appealed to the public that the organizers and organizers of the program should inform the office of the Election Commission in Belthangadi.
Ekavakshi office has been opened in Mini Vidhana Soudh to obtain permission for election meeting, use of loudspeaker, etc. Permits are issued if applications are made here. Social media is monitored. A case will be filed against those who spread propaganda and slander. Also action will be taken even if complaints are made. Bond secured by rowdy sheeters. Money cannot be transacted without documents. He said that appropriate documents should be provided.
Assistant Electoral Officer, Tahsildar Suresh Kumar said that there are 2,22,144 voters out of 110,634 men and 111,510 women in 241 booths in Belthangadi taluk. So far 6752 people have been given postal ballot in the taluk. Final voter list is being prepared. There are 4358 voters above 80 years of age who will be allowed to vote at home. He said there are 2394 PLD voters, 1694 VIP voters, 18 NRI voters and 70 Seva voters.
