Belthangadi: We are going to make an effort to get the candidates of the respective constituencies to take a pledge to banish bribery and corruption, give compensation and money to the people affected by it through the platform of News People’s Movement. As there are elections in 224 constituencies of the state, we are going to use this opportunity to bring this issue to the attention of the candidates through voters,” said Dr. U. P. Sivananda of Puttur News Janandola Forum.
He spoke at a press conference held at Belthangadi on Monday
“If we want to stop bribery and corruption, the candidate we vote for should be the one who stops bribery and corruption. Every voter should do something to bring this to the attention of the candidates when they vote. There should be governance from village to Delhi, not from Delhi to village,” he said.
This time, former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is contesting from Varuna and current Chief Minister Bommayi is contesting from Shiggavi as a non-party candidate to strengthen this movement,” he said.
Forum members Santosh Shantinagar, Jarappa Pujari, Manish Anchan and K.N. Gowda was present.
