Mangalore: The Rotary Club of Mangalore City donated a Intensive Care Unit for high risk pregnancy at Ladygoschen Hospital Mangaluru costing 34 lakhs at a function held at the hospital premises on 14 December 2022.
Past District Governor and World Rotaract Co-Chariman Rtn. Ravi Vadlamani graced the occasion Chief Guest, in his address he revealed that it is a project initiated under world Global grant of the Rotary International Foundation in association with Rotary Club of Schereville, Indiana U.S.A. and it is a clubs community oriented dream project implemented by Rotary Club of Mangalore City. It is a project in memory of Past Rotary District Governor Late Sooryaprakash Bhat, he paid rich tributes to Bhat for his invaluable contributions to the Rotary movement.
Past District Governor Rtn. Ranjan Kini, Chairman of Rotary Dist. Foundation R.I. District 6540 U.S.A. expressed his happiness over the project donated by the club for a nobel cause in tune with ladygoschen hospital motto safe motherhood and safe delivery. He exchanged memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Medical Superintendent of Ladygoschen Hospital Dr. Durgaprasad.
Eminent Gynaecologist Rtn. Dr. S.R. Nayak revealed that pregnant women with life style factors such as smoking drug addiction, alcohol habits, Covid 19, Hypertension, HIV, Obesity, Diabetes are more prone to High Risk Pregnancy.
